Managing Director, US Senior Trader/Analyst

Mr. Gushard is a Managing Director of Atlas’s credit strategy, having joined in June 2021. Previously, Mr. Gushard was a Senior Analyst at Odeon Capital Group in New York with a focus on stressed and distressed special situation credit opportunities. Prior to Odeon, Mr. Gushard was Director of Credit Underwriting at Global Bankers, a Portfolio Manager at Bowery Investment Management, and a Vice President at Paulson & Co. where he worked closely with Ty Wallach. His career in leveraged finance began at Merrill Lynch where he held roles as an Investment Banking Analyst, Credit Desk Analyst, and Bank Debt Trader. During his time as a trader on the buy-side and sell-side, he has sourced and traded over $15 billion of leveraged loans, corporate bonds, and credit derivatives.

A native of Franklin, Massachusetts, Mr. Gushard holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from the Schreyer Honors College at Penn State University where he completed five years of coursework in four years. While earning his degree, he was a Research Assistant to Goldman Sachs Endowed University Fellow, J. Randall Woolridge Ph.D. Mr. Gushard is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
